Join One of Australia's Most Advanced Technology Maintenance Teams

Kapsch TrafficCom is a global leader in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), delivering advanced tolling, traffic management and connected mobility solutions across Australia and around the world.

Our technology supports millions of motorists every day through some of Australia's largest and most advanced free-flow tolling networks.

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Auburn-based NSW team supporting roadside tolling infrastructure across Sydney.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of hands-on field work, technical troubleshooting and emerging technologies.

While the role involves maintaining roadside equipment, this is not a traditional maintenance position focused solely on inspections and component replacement. Our team works at the intersection of field operations, IT systems, networking, cybersecurity and innovation, providing opportunities to develop skills across a broad range of technologies.

You will work with tolling systems, cameras, sensors, controllers, Windows and Linux platforms, networked devices and remote monitoring tools while contributing to technology improvements and innovation initiatives that help shape the future of our operations.

If you enjoy solving technical problems, learning new technologies and working in an environment where your ideas can make a genuine impact, we would like to hear from you.

The Role

This role combines onsite maintenance activities with advanced technical troubleshooting and operational support.

Approximately 2–3 days per week are typically spent attending roadside sites and toll gantries across Sydney, performing preventative and corrective maintenance activities. The remaining time is spent supporting system diagnostics, investigations, software and firmware maintenance, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role includes participation in a shared 24-hour on-call roster, typically for up to two weeks at a time, with additional earnings available through on-call allowances and overtime opportunities - Potential to earn up to an additional 10-15% on your base salary with on call and overtime rates available.

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair tolling equipment.

  • Participate in technology improvement initiatives and trials.

  • Support the adoption of new tools, automation and monitoring capabilities.

  • Work alongside engineering and technical specialists on emerging technologies.

About You

You are a technically capable problem solver who enjoys working with both technology and hands-on field equipment. You are equally comfortable troubleshooting systems from a laptop as you are working safely on roadside infrastructure and toll gantries.
