Spray Painting Assistant

Big Box Cars is one of Australia's fastest-growing used-car retailers, and we're expanding our high-volume production team. We're looking for an experienced Spray Painter Assistant / Refinish Prepper to help prepare vehicles efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Prepare vehicles for refinishing, including masking, sanding and priming

• Complete prep work for cosmetic repairs and light collision damage

• Support the spray-painting team to ensure efficient workshop workflow

• Conduct quality checks to ensure vehicles are prepared to a high standard

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment

• Follow all workshop safety, PPE and quality procedures

• Assist the team in achieving daily production targets

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience in a vehicle preparation, refinishing or similar workshop role

• Trade-qualified Spray Painters seeking a support-focused role are encouraged to apply

• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work

• Ability to follow processes and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Good communication and time-management skills

• Understanding of workshop safety and PPE requirements

• Manual driver's licence

• Full Australian work rights

Desirable

• Experience with Axalta paint products

• Previous experience in automotive refinishing or collision repair environments
