Who We Are

Community Resources is a not-for-profit that creates real jobs doing work that matters. We support local communities by delivering practical services that help people stay safe, independent and in their own homes.

Helping Hands Building Services has been operating for over 30 years across the Great Lakes and Manning regions. We specialise in home modifications, maintenance and small construction works - the kind of work where you can see the result at the end of the day and know it’s made a difference.

The Work

This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified Tradie who enjoys variety and working directly with clients.

You’ll be:

  • Installing rails, ramps and access modifications

  • Completing bathroom and kitchen modifications

  • Working in residential homes across the Mid North Coast

  • Operating largely independently, with support from a small, experienced team

No big commercial sites, no FIFO  -  just solid, local work that helps people live safely at home.

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for someone reliable, capable and easy to work with who has:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry (minimum)

  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential building or carpentry

  • White Card

  • Ability to read plans and follow specifications

  • Good working knowledge of building codes and safe work practices

  • Confidence working on your own and as part of a small team

  • A respectful manner when working in people’s homes, particularly with older clients

  • Driver’s Licence and your own vehicle (to carry tools and travel between jobs)

  • Willingness to complete Working with Children and National Police Checks

What’s In It For You

  • Consistent hours - 38 hours per week, Monday - Friday

  • Varied jobs that keep things interesting

  • Supportive team and a values-driven organisation

We are an organisation that acknowledges systemic disadvantage and discrimination exist, and one that values diverse experience. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with different abilities, and people re-entering the workforce.
