MR truck driver

About the role

ACS Specialised Transport is seeking an experienced MR truck driver to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Smeaton Grange NSW 2567, this role is integral to our operations in the road transport sector. As an MR truck driver, you will be responsible for safely operating medium rigid vehicles, transporting goods across various routes whilst maintaining our high standards of professionalism, safety and customer service. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and secure delivery of goods to our clients.

Key responsibilities

1. Operate medium rigid (MR) vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies

2. Plan and execute delivery routes to meet scheduled timelines and customer requirements

3. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working order

4. Load, secure and unload cargo safely, ensuring goods are transported without damage

5. Maintain accurate logbooks and records of deliveries, mileage and vehicle maintenance

6. Communicate effectively with dispatch, management and customers regarding delivery status and any issues

7. Adhere to all road safety regulations, weight limits and transport legislation

8. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly

9. Represent ACS Specialised Transport professionally to customers and the public at all times

What we're looking for

1. Current and valid MR (Medium Rigid) driving licence appropriate to Australian standards

2. Minimum 2 years of professional truck driving experience in road transport

3. Proven track record of safe driving with a clean driving record

4. Current digital tachograph (DT) accreditation or willingness to obtain it

5. Knowledge of road safety regulations, vehicle maintenance and transport compliance

6. Strong communication and customer service skills

7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

8. Physical capability to perform loading and unloading duties

9. Reliability and punctuality in meeting delivery schedules

10. Flexibility to work varied hours, including early starts and occasional overtime
