Keystone Building Certifiers is seeking an experienced Building Inspector, Building Surveyor or Private Certifier to join our growing team.

With a strong and consistent workload, we're looking for someone who can confidently undertake critical stage inspections and hit the ground running.

This role is primarily focused on inspections and would suit someone who enjoys being out on site, working independently and making practical compliance decisions.

About Us

Keystone Building Certifiers has been operating for over 7 years and has built a reputation for being practical, responsive, and easy to deal with.

We're a small team of six consisting of four certifiers and two administration staff.

We work closely together, support each other when needed and genuinely enjoy what we do.

As our workload continues to grow, we're looking for another experienced person to join the team and help us continue delivering a high level of service to our clients.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out approximately 6–8 residential critical stage inspections per day across Class 1 & 10 developments.

Inspection types include:

• Pier inspections

• Slab inspections

• Stormwater inspections

• Frame inspections

• Waterproofing inspections

Reports are completed on-site through our mobile inspection platform, allowing you to move efficiently through your day without unnecessary paperwork.

Inspections are generally scheduled between 9am and 3pm providing flexibility around scheduling.

We're looking for someone who already understands residential critical stage inspections and can confidently determine whether work is compliant, requires rectification or requires reinspection.

While we'll provide full training on our systems and processes, we're ideally seeking someone who can step into the role with minimal technical training.

What We're Looking For

You may currently be working as a:

• Building Surveyor

• Building Inspector

• Private Certifier

• Restricted Class 1 & 10 Building Surveyor 

 

We are also open to speaking with experienced builders, site supervisors or licensed contractors who have a strong technical understanding of residential construction and a genuine interest in transitioning into building surveying.

Essential Requirements

• Experience conducting residential building inspections

• Strong understanding of the NCC/BCA and residential construction practices

• Knowledge of residential critical stage inspections

• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule

• Strong communication skills

• Current driver's licence

Highly Regarded

• Registered Building Surveyor accreditation

• Previous private certification experience

• Experience with BCS (Building Compliance System)

• Knowledge of NSW planning controls and CDC assessments

• Qualifications in Building Surveying

• Licensed builders or trades looking to transition away from the tools and into a knowledge-based field
