Our client is a growing lightweight steel fabrication company supplying high-quality framing solutions to the commercial construction industry. With a strong pipeline of projects and a commitment to innovation, we are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator/Senior Detailer to join our team and play a key role in delivering successful project outcomes.
 
This is an opportunity for a confident and experienced detailer who is ready to take ownership of projects, contribute to continuous improvement, and support the development of other team members. You will be responsible for producing accurate, build-ready steel framing documentation from architectural and engineering designs while helping maintain quality, consistency, and efficiency across the detailing team.
 
Experience with Revit is essential, while familiarity with FRAMECAD is highly regarded. You will also receive training in advanced detailing and automation systems as part of our commitment to innovation and professional development.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Review architectural, structural, and engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations to determine project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate 3D models, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction documentation for lightweight steel framing projects.
  • Produce detailed framing documentation with a strong focus on façade and building envelope systems.
  • Generate material schedules, bills of materials (BOMs), and fabrication information to support manufacturing and procurement.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and production teams to clarify design intent and resolve technical issues.
  • Incorporate design revisions and updates into project documentation as required.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to identify and resolve errors, clashes, and inconsistencies.
  • Support and mentor junior detailers, helping develop technical capability and maintain drafting standards across the team.
  • Contribute to improving detailing workflows, systems, and documentation processes.
  • Maintain organised project records, drawing registers, revisions, and documentation.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, software advancements, and best practices in lightweight steel framing and façade detailing.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in lightweight steel framing detailing.
  • Strong Revit proficiency.
  • Proven experience detailing façade and building envelope systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in façade and building envelope detailing is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, structural systems, and building materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
Highly Regarded
  • FRAMECAD experience.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supporting other detailers.
  • Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Drafting, Building Design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within commercial steel framing projects.
