Location: Tyagarah, NSW

Byron Bay Van Fitouts is seeking an exceptional all-rounder to join our growing team in a unique hybrid role combining Operations Management, Cabinet Making, Carpentry, and Design.

This position is suited to someone who enjoys leading a team, building premium products, solving problems, and bringing creative ideas to life.

You will work directly alongside the business owner to oversee workshop operations, manage projects, contribute to design development, and maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship across every build.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position.

We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable:

• Leading a team

• Managing workflow and project delivery

• Building high-quality cabinetry and fitouts

• Producing and reviewing designs

• Solving technical challenges

• Improving systems and workshop efficiency

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily workshop operations

• Lead and manage tradespeople and contractors

• Oversee project scheduling and delivery

• Design and develop campervan and motorhome layouts

• Create or review technical drawings and plans

• Build and install premium cabinetry and fitout components

• Maintain quality control across all projects

• Coordinate suppliers, materials, and procurement

• Develop and improve workshop systems and SOPs

• Work closely with clients during design and build phases

• Report directly to the business owner

Essential Skills & Experience

• Leadership or management experience

• Cabinet making and joinery experience

• Carpentry or construction experience

• Strong understanding of design and spatial planning

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Experience with SketchUp, CAD, or similar software

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Strong problem-solving ability

• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Highly Desirable

• Architectural drafting or building design experience

• Tiny homes, campervans, caravans, marine, or custom manufacturing experience

• Workshop or production management experience

• Experience implementing systems and procedures

• Strong understanding of project costing and profitability

• Ability to take projects from concept through to completion
