We are seeking a motivated and reliable Metal Fabricator / Welder to join our growing team in Canberra. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in producing high-quality work and working safely in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be involved in the fabrication, welding, assembly, and installation of a variety of structural steel, architectural metalwork, and custom fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication and assembly of steel and metal components from drawings and specifications.

• MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.

• Operation of fabrication equipment including saws, drills, grinders, and workshop machinery.

• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings.

• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

• Conducting quality checks on completed work.

• Assisting with onsite installations when required.

Essential Requirements

• Trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication, Boilermaking, or equivalent.

• Demonstrated welding and fabrication experience.

• Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings.

• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Current driver's licence.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

• Forklift Licence.

• Dogging or Rigging Licence.

• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.

• Construction Industry White Card.

• Experience with structural steel fabrication and installation.
