Full-time Panel Beater, 2 positions available (across 2 locations)

About the role

We are seeking 2 experienced Panel Beaters to join our team at Barry Collision Repairs in Ipswich QLD. These are full-time positions located across our two sites in Yamanto QLD 4305 and Bundamba QLD 4304.

Key Responsibilities

• Body Repair: Remove dents, repair panel damage, and replace damaged components.

• Chassis Alignment: Use specialized alignment equipment to straighten damaged vehicle frames and chassis.

• Component Fitting: Fit and align replacement panels, doors, hoods, and interior/exterior trim items.

• Welding & Fabrication: Perform precise welding, cutting, and metal fabrication tasks safely.

• Assessments: Make decisions regarding repairs and order supp's where necessary

• Quality: QC jobs prior to them moving to the next stage of production

Requirements

• Qualifications: Trade Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology

• Skills: Proficiency with hand tools, hydraulic pullers, oxy-acetylene, and MIG/TIG welders. Be able to work as a part of a team.

• Precision: Strong attention to detail to ensure factory-spec finishes and vehicle safety.

• Licence: Valid QLD Driver’s Licence to move workshop vehicles safely

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

1. A recognised Panel Beating qualification or apprenticeship completion

2. Proficiency in using panel beating tools and equipment, including hammers, dollies, and hydraulic equipment

3. Experience with vehicle welding techniques and metal straightening procedures

4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

5. Knowledge of vehicle safety systems and repair procedures

6. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

7. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

8. Current driver's licence

9. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work in various positions
