Mechanical Fitter

• $54.33 (Level 4) – $59.27 (Level 5) Per Hour, plus overtime penalty rates paid.
• Rotating Shift Roster – Day: 6:00am–2:00pm | Night: 2:00pm–10:00pm
• 5 Days On / 2 Days Off, rotating through weekdays and weekends.
• Initial 12 - 6 Months Contract. 
• Immediate Start. 

Rollingstock Maintenance Technician (Mechanical)
Company Overview:
Our valued key turn transport services national client who operates throughout Australia & who is responsible for the supply, operation, and maintenance of the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 network. They are seeking skilled Mechanical Technicians to support our light rail vehicle (LRV) maintenance team during a period of increased workload.

Role Tasks & Duties:
The role includes, but is not limited to:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Light Rail Vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in rollingstock systems
• Support vehicle handovers and incident recovery procedures
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards
• Assist in on-the-job training and knowledge sharing
• Participate in rotating on-call rosters and shift work
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
• Collaborate with operations and asset management teams to meet KPIs

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:

• Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or similar mechanical trade qualification
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
• Minimum 3 years of rollingstock experience (required for Level 5 pay rate)
• Solid understanding of rail vehicle mechanical systems (Urbos 100 or equivalent preferred)
• Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team
• Strong computer literacy, including MS Office suite
• Emergency response experience highly regarded
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and on-call as required

Pre-employment Requirements:
All candidates must pass the following:

• Category 1 Rail Medical including Drug & Alcohol screening
• National Police Check
• Australian Work Rights Check
• 2x Reference Checks
• Trade Proficiency Assessment

   • Level 4 – $54.33/hr (for Cert III qualified candidates)
   • Level 5 – $59.27/hr (for Cert III + 3+ years rollingstock experience)

• Location: Rosehill – Parramatta Light Rail Depot.
• Team Environment: Work with experienced rail professionals in a modern facility
• Duration: Initial 12 - 6X Months contract on offer, with an immediate start.
