BTP Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Leading Hand HD Mechanic to join our high-performing Mackay workshop team. This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with hands-on leadership while working on mining and earthmoving equipment.

The Role

As a Leading Hand, you'll be responsible for:

• Leading and coordinating workshop personnel to achieve production targets
• Providing technical guidance and support to tradespeople and apprentices
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards
• Managing workflow, job priorities and workshop schedules
• Supporting fault finding, diagnostics, repairs and component rebuilds
• Promoting continuous improvement and maintaining a positive team culture
• Ensuring compliance with safety, quality and OEM requirements

What You'll Bring

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification as a Heavy-Duty Plant Mechanic
• Extensive experience maintaining mining and heavy earthmoving equipment
• Previous Leading Hand, Supervisory or Senior Tradesperson experience
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
• Forklift Licence (essential)
• Dogging Licence or higher (highly regarded)
• Current C Class Driver's Licence
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
• Ability to mentor and develop apprentices and team members
