Full time
$45–$55/hr + Super + Bonuses | Take-Home HiAce | Growth Role
Paterson Trades Group is looking for a reliable, qualified plumber who takes pride in their work, enjoys learning new skills and thrives in a positive, fun team environment.
Built on four generations of plumbing heritage, we're a premium, family‑backed multi‑trade business delivering high‑quality residential plumbing and specialist services across Adelaide's north and western suburbs. We're entering a strong growth phase and need someone to become part of the core team, not just fill a position.
This is not a clock‑in, clock‑out role. It's a long‑term opportunity for someone who wants responsibility, development, variety in their work and to actually enjoy coming to work.
This role is designed for someone who wants to grow, not just chase hours. You'll work hands‑on in the trade while also learning and developing skills in:
quoting and pricing work
customer communication and job ownership
leading jobs and coordinating apprentices
problem‑solving and higher‑level diagnostics
You'll be supported directly by the founder and have access to ongoing personal development from multiple business coaches covering service excellence and personal growth. We work hard, but we don't run a high‑pressure, toxic environment – good attitudes matter here.
$45–$55 per hour + super, depending on experience
Annual leave loading
Performance‑based bonuses
Fully fitted take‑home Toyota HiAce with fuel card
Weekend and on‑call work optional
Planned shutdown over Christmas and New Year so you can properly switch off
Stable, full‑time role with a consistent workload year‑round
Weekly skills sessions and on‑the‑job mentoring
Ongoing personal and professional development through multiple business coaches, including service training and personal life development
Direct access to the founder (no layers of management)
Paid training with a clear pathway into leadership roles
Cert II in Air Conditioning paid for plumbers who want to expand their skill set
Quarterly team events and a workplace where people genuinely get along
You'll work across a mix of:
solo service and maintenance jobs
residential upgrades and improvements
larger domestic projects such as drainage repairs and system upgrades
Some days you'll run your own jobs from start to finish; other days you'll lead or assist on larger projects with apprentices or other trades. If it's your job, you own the outcome – with full backing and support from the business.
Premium domestic maintenance and emergency plumbing
Sewer and stormwater repairs, upgrades and replacements
High‑pressure drain cleaning and CCTV inspections
Drain relining solutions
Gas appliance installations and gas heating upgrades
Hot water systems (solar, heat pump, electric and gas)
Bathroom, kitchen and laundry renovation plumbing
Whole‑home and under‑sink water filtration systems
Bushfire sprinkler and property protection systems
Ongoing exposure to new services as the business expands
This role will suit someone who:
is reliable and turns up on time
takes pride in workmanship and finishing jobs properly
enjoys learning new skills and expanding their trade
communicates well with customers and teammates
has a positive attitude and likes to have fun at work
wants long‑term stability with room to grow
It's not suited to someone who wants to avoid responsibility or just do the bare minimum.
✔ South Australian plumbing licence and registration
✔ Minimum 3 years' residential plumbing experience (preferred)
✔ Current driver's licence
✔ Good communication and customer skills
✔ Team‑first attitude and willingness to learn
✔ Interest in mentoring apprentices as the team grows
