Workshop Boilermakers & Welders - Casual to Full Time - Day Shift

The order books are full and a strong pipeline of works beyond.  Join the team at IMF with regular 40+ hour weeks working on a variety of fabrications from regular structural steel, platework and challenging architectural fabrication.

IMF is a family-owned Australian steel fabrication business located in Rutherford, NSW. With over 80 highly skilled personnel we specialize in custom fabrication and erection of structural steel in infrastructure, mining, commercial and agriculture sectors.

About the role

IMF Steel Construction have a full order book running well into the new year and are currently looking for highly skilled boilermakers and welders, to join our motivated and committed team. The role would provide an immediate start at our Rutherford workshop facility and provide the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and develop a career, within a growing organization.

Work is ongoing and consistent; our lifestyle roster 4 x 10hr days and regular and ongoing overtime (45+ hours per week).

Skills and Experience

• Experience in medium to heavy fabrication

• Being able to carry out all tasks to highest of industry standards

• Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards

• Assemble components with correct dimensions, edge preparations, weld preparations

• Perform welding techniques including, but not limited to, MMAW, FCAW

• Ability to pass an AS1554.1 weld tests to the above techniques

• Follow quality control systems and techniques

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment

• Demonstrate a high commitment to the safety of yourself and your colleagues

• Able to attend and pass a suitable medical/physical assessment

HRWL, LF, WP, DG, RB, RA, Confined Space Training

Working at Heights & Training within last 2 years
