About the role

Titan Ind Pty Ltd is seeking skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a 3-month contract basis with the possibility of extension for ongoing work. Based in Central Queensland on a 2/1 roster this role is pivotal to maintaining and installing mechanical systems and equipment that keep our operations running smoothly. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, servicing and repairing a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure all mechanical components function to the highest standard.

What you'll be doing

1. Assembling, installing and commissioning mechanical equipment and machinery in accordance with technical specifications and drawings

2. Performing routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance

3. Diagnosing mechanical faults and defects, determining root causes and implementing effective solutions

4. Using precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure components are fitted to exact specifications and tolerances

5. Adhering to all health, safety and environmental regulations on site

What we're looking for

1. A formal qualification in mechanical fitting, engineering or a related trade discipline

2. A minimum of 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience as a Mechanical Fitter in industrial, manufacturing or maintenance environments

3. Competency with precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and dial gauges

4. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical problems

5. Experience with machinery installation, commissioning and preventative maintenance programmes
