Senior Vehicle validation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, develop, and continuously improve the vehicle validation framework and testing system. Lead the development and optimization of standards for vehicle durability testing, environmental adaptability testing, and overseas localization validation, while continuously enhancing test processes, evaluation methodologies, and overall test quality.

  • Lead validation planning for local vehicle programs. Based on vehicle changes, technical risks, and market requirements, guide the development and execution of validation plans, test specifications, and test procedures to ensure product issues are effectively identified and exposed during development.

  • Conduct customer usage and vehicle application scenario studies. Analyze historical vehicle quality issues, field performance data, and customer research findings to continuously evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of validation conditions and test cycles, driving continuous improvement of validation methodologies.

  • Own the end-to-end management of validation issues and defect resolution. Work closely with engineering and design teams to investigate, track, and resolve technical and quality issues identified during vehicle testing, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions and product improvements.

  • Lead and manage the local validation team, including resource planning, capability development, project coordination, and performance management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of vehicle validation and verification experience within an automotive OEM environment.

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle development and validation processes, including vehicle-level verification and validation activities, Design Verification Plans (DVP), vehicle acceptance testing, and vehicle evaluation and assessment methodologies.

  • Familiarity with vehicle durability testing, environmental testing, reliability validation, and market-specific adaptation testing for global vehicle programs.

  • Good understanding of energy consumption, fuel economy, and vehicle efficiency regulations across major automotive markets.

  • Proven experience in planning and executing vehicle validation programs, with the ability to identify risks, prioritize issues, and drive effective problem resolution.

  • Strong project management, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product development teams.

  • Experience leading or mentoring validation teams is highly desirable.

  • Mandarin Chinese proficiency is highly preferred, as this role requires frequent communication and technical collaboration with the company’s headquarters and engineering teams in China.

  • Australian Permanent Residency or Australian citizenship preferred
