About the opportunity 
Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic blue trucks to deliver for customers? As our unrestricted Medium Rigid Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted Townsville based StarTrack facility, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that! 

This full time permanent opportunity works Monday - Friday. The pay is $33.82/hr plus 12% super along with overtime rates. A pay increase is due on 1 September in accordance with the enterprise agreement. There has never been a better time to join!

You’ll be

Freight handling and safe loading of your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility. 
Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.  
Driving our modern trucks between our Townsville facility and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups.  
Returning to StarTrack Townsville to unload pick-ups and complete end of day tasks.

About you   

You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality who loves autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player. You’re passionate about making a difference in the community. 

You’ll also need to 

Hold a relevant unrestricted Medium Rigid vehicle license.  
Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all different shapes, sizes and weights, frequently in and out of a truck (up to 30kg). 
Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility. 
Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills. 
Meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less.
Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a driving assessment in a MR Truck, pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and nationally coordinated criminal history checks.
