About the role:
AAM have a full-time permanent position available for a trade qualified Wood Machinist who knows timber, tooling and setups. You will be responsible for setting up and running multi-head moulders, planer, managing tooling, profiles and changeovers, and ensuring finish quality is right the first time.
Our Bathurst, NSW site is a mid-tier radiata sawmill company processing approximately 90,000m3 small saw logs with plans to grow. The mill is a modern Hewsaw SL200 sawline with fully optimised automation to gain high recovery and productivity. Other onsite facilities include a timber treatment plant, kiln drying and a dry mill.
What we're looking for:
Trade qualified Wood Machinist, or other trade with wood machining experience.
Demonstrated ability to safely set up and operate a range of machinery with precision and care.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing of timber components.
Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machinery to maintain optimal operating conditions.
Work collaboratively with the Management and the production team to ensure efficient and timely completion of orders.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols.
Ability to work day shift, afternoon shift or flexible hours as per operational requirements.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Must have a safety mindset and be a strong team player.
