Full time
Autesso is Melbourne's premium workplace coffee company. When a corporate office, hotel, or commercial venue wants to take their coffee seriously, they call us.
We're an authorised distributor of premium Franke commercial coffee equipment, operating nationally with around 200 active client sites, including some of Australia's most recognisable corporate and hospitality brands. Premium equipment, bean supply, service, and the relationship management that ties it all together.
We're a small team doing work you'd expect from a much bigger one. Everyone pulls their weight and then some, cares genuinely about the craft, and holds themselves to a standard nobody has to enforce. Warm and collegial, not stuffy.
As Autesso grows, so does the demand on our technical program. Water filtration, annual services and planned maintenance visits are a core part of how we look after 200+ active client sites, and we've reached the point where this work deserves a dedicated person who owns it properly.
You'll build and run Autesso's planned maintenance program to the same standard we hold across everything we do. That means working to a managed schedule across our national fleet: water filtration replacements, Franke Annual Services, site check-ins, and the parts work, minor or major, that comes with each visit.
Coffee is central to this role. On every planned maintenance visit, you'll assess the quality of what the machine is producing, calibrate it, and make sure it's performing to Autesso's standard before you leave. You don't need to be a qualified technician to apply, but you do need to understand what good coffee looks like and care about it.
We'll train you fully on Franke equipment and put you through Franke's certification program. You'll come out a certified Franke service technician.
The schedule is planned, not reactive, but the work isn't rigid. Priorities shift, sites throw surprises, and we need someone who adapts without drama and gets on with it.
This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on technical work with genuine coffee expertise, backed by a business that takes both seriously.
Whether you're a technician who wants to work in a premium environment, someone from the coffee industry with technical aptitude looking for a new direction, or someone early in a trade career who wants to build real expertise from the ground up, the right attitude and willingness to learn will take you further here than years on a resume.
You'll work to a planned schedule, not a reactive one, which means you can do the job properly. You'll represent a premium brand at premium client sites. And you'll be trained and certified by one of the world's leading commercial coffee equipment manufacturers.
We've recently brought on a new Operations Manager and we're building the structure and team to support a growing national client base. This is a good time to join.
What you'll own
Executing Autesso's planned maintenance program across the national fleet, working to a schedule designed and managed with the Technical Lead and Operations Manager
Planned maintenance visits across contracted sites: grinder calibration, coffee quality assessment, water filtration checks and replacements, machine diagnostics, and seal and parts work as required
Franke Annual Services completed on schedule and documented accurately
Coffee quality checks as a standard part of every visit: you assess what the machine is producing, calibrate it, and ensure it is performing to Autesso's high standard before you leave
Developing your diagnostic capability over time, building the technical depth to contribute to and support the broader service team as you grow in the role
Equipment relocations, decommissioning and uninstalls managed end to end
Accurate job documentation in SimPRO after every visit, every time
Occasional interstate travel to support our NSW and SA clients, a few trips per year
This role spends most of its time on the road, working independently across client sites. The right person is someone who thrives with autonomy, manages their own time well, and holds themselves to a high standard without needing someone looking over their shoulder.
Specifically:
You are self-directed and organised. You manage a schedule, prepare properly before leaving the warehouse, and show up to every site ready to do the job without doubling back for parts or information you should have brought
You communicate clearly and promptly. Job notes are detailed, photos are taken when something needs to be seen, and anything raised on-site that needs attention gets flagged the same day, not at the end of the week
You are warm and professional with clients. Our sites are premium workplaces and you will often be the only Autesso person a client sees in person. How you present, how you speak, and how you leave the site all reflect the brand
You genuinely care about coffee. You do not need to be a barista, but you need to understand what a well-performing machine should produce and care about the difference between a machine that is technically functioning and one that is actually performing
You notice things and act on them. A loose fitting, an unusual sound, a filter that is overdue. You do not walk past things that need attention
You are adaptable. The schedule is planned but the work is not always predictable. You handle the unexpected calmly, communicate quickly, and get on with it
You take pride in closing a job properly. Notes completed, site left clean, client acknowledged. Every time
Autesso is a female-led business. We actively encourage applications from women and candidates of all backgrounds. If this role sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
$70,000 – $75,000 base + super
Full Franke technical training and certification. You will leave with credentials that matter
Genuine autonomy. You manage your own schedule, work independently across client sites, and are trusted to get the job done properly
Varied work across a national fleet of premium equipment, not the same location every day
Free coffee. Good coffee
A small, capable team that holds a high standard and backs each other
A business that takes coffee seriously. The quality of what comes out of the machine matters as much as the service behind it
A growing technical program you will help shape as you develop in the role
Send your CV and answers to the following. Three to four sentences each, please.
Tell us about a piece of work you finished and felt genuinely proud of. What made it worth being proud of, and would anyone else have noticed the difference?
You will spend most of your time working independently, on the road, without anyone checking in. What does a good day look like for you in that environment, and what does a bad one look like?
What is your relationship with coffee? Not your resume answer. The real one.
