About the Company:
This is a family owned and operated commercial building maintenance business established over
16 years ago. Operating as a one stop shop for commercial clients, the business delivers plumbing, carpentry,
electrical, cleaning, gardening, painting, floor restoration, pest control, and air conditioning services across
Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
The business is ISO accredited and maintains a rigorous documentation and quality assurance process across
all jobs. The current Brisbane field team consists of carpenters, landscapers, gardeners, and handy persons.
There are currently no plumbing technicians on staff, making this a brand new capability being added to the
business.
Role Overview:
- The Maintenance Plumber will attend a variety of commercial maintenance jobs across Brisbane and surrounds, dispatched daily through Simpro. Jobs range from a couple of hours to a full day depending on the facility and scope. Sites include aged care facilities, daycare centres, schools, high-rise apartment complexes, and commercial buildings. The role is largely self managed day to day. The technician receives their schedule through Simpro, attends the job, completes the work, and uploads before and after photos and notes on completion. Larger equipment is pre-loaded onto the company ute or trailer.
Role Responsibilities
Day to Day Maintenance:
- Attend commercial maintenance plumbing jobs across Brisbane and surrounds, dispatched via Simpro each day.
- Carry out general maintenance plumbing including leak repairs, blocked drains, hot water, TMV servicing and testing, backflow testing, and general reactive maintenance.
- Complete all work to Australian Standards and in compliance with WHS legislation and site rules.
- Upload before and after photos and job notes through Simpro on completion of every task.
Technical and Compliance:
- Perform TMV testing and backflow prevention testing across aged care, childcare, and commercial facilities in compliance with legislative requirements.
- Identify and escalate scope beyond the initial job order rather than absorbing additional work without authorisation.
- Adhere to all site specific induction, WHS, and permit requirements at each facility.
Client and Communication:
- Communicate professionally with facility managers, body corporate contacts, and site representatives at each job.
- Set clear expectations with clients on completion timeframes, scope, and any follow up work required.
- Maintain the Mathiou Services standard of documentation to support the business's quality assurance process.
