About the Role
We operate a large-scale manufacturing facility in NSW, also operating our olive farms, vineyards, and vegetable farms across the state.
These integrated operations work together to produce supplements, high-quality olive oil and fresh agricultural products supplied to our business, including manufacturing, food service, and restaurants.
We are currently seeking a Mechanic/Welder to join our team based in Hillston.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of agricultural and processing equipment across our olive orchard. This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically minded individual who enjoys problem-solving and working in a dynamic agricultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair agricultural diesel machinery including olive harvesters, tractors, sprayers, pruning equipment, and supporting machinery
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on orchard and factory equipment
Perform preventative maintenance programs to minimise equipment downtime during peak harvest and processing seasons
Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns in both orchard and processing environments
Carry out welding, fabrication, and metal repairs on machinery, trailers, bins, frames, guards, and agricultural infrastructure
Assist with the setup, calibration, and adjustment of processing equipment to support production efficiency and product quality
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment documentation
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate parts ordering as required
Ensure all equipment is maintained in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
Work collaboratively with farm managers, operators, and processing teams to coordinate maintenance activities
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Fitter, Welder, or similar
Experience maintaining agricultural, heavy plant, or industrial equipment
Strong welding and fabrication skills
Sound knowledge of hydraulic, diesel, mechanical, and electrical systems
Ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs independently
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Good organisational and record-keeping skills
Current driver's licence
Forklift or other relevant licences will be highly regarded
