Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic

With a fleet of over 190 prime movers and trailing equipment across WA, ACFS provides a technically diverse workshop environment supporting a multi-OEM fleet.

We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our O’Connor workshop.

What we offer:

  • $50 per hour (based on experience)

  • Overtime and allowances available (including weekend work)

  • Weekly pay

  • Permanent, full-time position

  • Established workshop with experienced tradespeople

  • Modern fleet maintained in-house

  • Ongoing work across a varied and high-utilisation fleet

About the role:

  • Diagnostics, fault finding and repair of heavy-duty diesel engines, drivetrains and associated systems

  • Servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs across prime movers and trailers

  • Electrical fault-finding including lighting, ABS/EBS and auxiliary systems

  • Repairs and maintenance across OEM fleet including Mercedes, Kenworth, Fuso and UD

  • Preventative maintenance in line with NHVR and manufacturer requirements

  • Running repairs to maintain fleet availability and operational performance

  • Accurate completion of job cards and maintenance records

What you bring:

  • Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic trade qualification (essential)

  • Strong diagnostic capability across mechanical and electrical systems

  • Proven experience working on heavy vehicle fleets in a workshop or fleet environment

  • Ability to carry out repairs efficiently with a focus on minimising downtime

  • Experience with fleet maintenance programs and defect rectification

  • Sound understanding of heavy vehicle safety and compliance requirements

  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship standards

 Desirable:

  • HR or HC licence

  • Forklift licence

  • Experience across multiple OEM platforms
