We are seeking motivated and practical minded people who are interested in pursuing a career as a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology Apprentice with WTG. This opportunity is suited to those looking to commence their apprenticeship, as well as current apprentices who are already completing their trade and are looking to continue their development with a respected heavy vehicle dealership network.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist qualified technicians with servicing, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy commercial vehicles.

  • Learn to inspect, test, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, braking, steering, suspension, and diesel engine systems.

  • Use tools, workshop equipment, and diagnostic technology safely and correctly under supervision.

  • Complete on the job training and required trade studies towards a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment.

  • Work collaboratively with workshop, service, parts, and administration teams to support quality customer outcomes.

Other Skills and/or Experience: 

  • A genuine interest in trucks, engines, machinery, and developing a long term career in the heavy vehicle industry.

  • Suitable for first year apprentices or current Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology apprentices seeking to continue their apprenticeship.

  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safe work practices.

  • A current driver’s licence, or willingness to obtain one, will be highly regarded.
