Castleross Construction is seeking experienced Welders for ongoing infrastructure projects in the Perth metro region. This role involves working as part of a skilled team delivering high-quality concrete and structural works in a fast-paced site environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute welding operations on various materials including structural steel, stainless steel and other alloys using appropriate welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick welding and oxy-acetylene)
• Prepare work areas and materials, including cleaning, cutting and positioning components for welding
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications to ensure work meets project requirements
• Inspect completed welds for quality, strength and adherence to industry standards and specifications
• Maintain welding equipment in good working condition and perform routine maintenance and calibration
• Comply with all health and safety regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and other trades to ensure project coordination and timely completion
• Document welding work and maintain accurate records as required by project specifications

What we're looking for

• Recognised welding qualifications and certifications relevant to the Australian welding industry (such as AS/NZS certifications or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Welder, with demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes and techniques
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications
• Solid understanding of welding safety standards, industry best practices and quality assurance procedures
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in varying environmental conditions, at heights and in confined spaces where required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively on construction sites
• Reliability and punctuality, particularly important for casual work arrangements
• Current First Aid certification and Working at Heights certification are advantageous
• Experience in structural steel, boilermaking or fabrication work is highly valued
