Bunbury Trucks is seeking a full-time Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team in Glen Iris, WA.

Bunbury Trucks is a well-established truck sales, service and parts business supporting customers across Bunbury and the wider South West region. We work with a range of Japanese truck brands and provide servicing, diagnostics, repairs, parts and fleet support to commercial vehicle operators.

This role is suited to a trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, trucks and commercial vehicles. Experience with Japanese truck brands such as Fuso, Hino, Isuzu or UD would be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel trucks and commercial vehicles.

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and driveline faults.

  • Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs or preventative maintenance.

  • Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, suspension, braking systems and related components.

  • Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment to support accurate fault finding.

  • Complete work in line with manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures and safety standards.

  • Maintain accurate job records, service reports and parts information.

  • Work with service advisors, parts staff and other workshop team members to complete jobs efficiently.

  • Assist with breakdowns, urgent repairs or field service requirements where required.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent.

  • Relevant experience working on trucks, commercial vehicles or heavy diesel equipment.

  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

  • Experience with servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.

  • Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers and internal staff.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

  • Current driver’s licence.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Japanese truck brands such as Fuso, Hino, Isuzu or UD.

  • Experience working in a dealership or busy truck workshop environment.

  • HR licence or higher.

  • Experience with diagnostic systems, air systems, electrical fault finding and fleet maintenance.
