Thursday: 12 – 8pm

Friday: 12 – 8pm

Saturday: 6am – 2pm

Sunday: 6am – 2pm

Access Metal Recycling is a well-established regional scrap metal company seeking a qualified Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic or a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic looking to upgrade to a Heavy Commercial Vehicle qualification.

Based in our workshop at Barmedman, you will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of equipment, including trucks (Kenworth T909 and K610 prime movers), trailers, excavators, material handlers, generators, and other fixed and mobile plant. This role provides excellent variety and exposure to a broad range of equipment in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Diagnosing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, trailers, earthmoving equipment, material handlers, forklifts and generators.

• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems to identify faults and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

• Performing routine servicing and preventative maintenance.

• Maintaining accurate service records and assisting with inventory and stock control.

• Ensuring compliance with company policies and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Working collaboratively with the workshop team to maximise equipment reliability and availability.

What You'll Bring

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Trade qualifications in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical (or equivalent); or

• Trade qualifications in Light Vehicle Mechanical (or equivalent) and a willingness to upgrade to Heavy Commercial Vehicle qualifications.

• Experience working on heavy vehicles, trailers, plant and equipment.

• A current driver's licence (heavy vehicle licence advantageous)

• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
