At Moree Plains Shire Council, we are seeking an attention-to-detail, solutions-focused, and ethical professional to join our Planning & Development division as a Casual Weight of Loads Inspector. If you are a communicative, personable, and analytical individual dedicated to heavy vehicle compliance and safeguarding regional infrastructure, we want to hear from you.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Planning & Regulatory Services, you will support and assist in the delivery of heavy vehicle compliance through random and targeted mass inspections. Operating across participating member Councils in the North-West region of New South Wales, this role serves as a key interface between the transport industry and Council, balancing active law enforcement with community education.
As this is a casual position, hours will be offered according to operational requirements, leave coverage, and rostered relief needs. As a casual employee you will be called in to work as required. Please note there is no guarantee of regular or ongoing hours.

About You
You are a confident communicator who can adapt your style to handle sensitive or challenging negotiations with a diverse range of stakeholders, from truck drivers to regulatory agency staff. You can work with minimal supervision while maintaining a strict commitment to corporate governance and safety.
