Your new role
  
This Machinist/Fitter role will be a key part of a capable workshop team delivering precision machining, fitting and repair support across varied industrial, manufacturing and construction-related projects. The position will involve operating CNC and manual lathes, mills and borers to close tolerances, with medium to heavy machining capability considered essential. Working from drawings, specifications and job requirements, the successful candidate will manufacture, modify and repair components that directly support client operations, project delivery and urgent breakdown needs. The role contributes to the business by helping maintain its reputation for quality workmanship, reliable turnaround times and practical engineering solutions. Sitting within a hands-on, trade-focused team, this person will work closely with supervisors, fabricators and site personnel to ensure work is completed safely, accurately and to the standard clients expect.

  
  
What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as a Machinist, Fitter and Turner, or similar trade-qualified role
• Strong medium to heavy machining capability across workshop-based engineering work
• Confident operating CNC and manual lathes, mills and borers to close tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, job specifications and machining requirements
• Skilled in machining, modifying and repairing components across varied materials and applications
• Strong fitting, assembly and mechanical problem-solving ability
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accurate, quality workmanship
• Practical understanding of safe work practices in a heavy industrial workshop environment
• Reliable, organised and capable of managing priorities across custom jobs, repairs and project work
• Forklift ticket would be highly regarded
