The Role

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Officer to join our Facilities Maintenance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining the reliability, presentation, and safety of Adelaide Airport’s buildings, infrastructure, and operational areas.

Reporting to the Facilities Team Leader, you will support a wide range of maintenance activities across the airport, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with operational requirements.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys practical, day-to-day problem solving and working across different environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the operational condition of airport buildings, assets, and infrastructure

  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a range of facilities

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor works across the airport

  • Contribute to maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support Airport Emergency Response activities when required

  • Work in accordance with AAL policies, procedures, and WHS requirements

  • Act as a professional and responsive point of contact for internal teams, tenants, contractors, and the public

  • Represent Adelaide Airport to a high standard, contributing to a positive customer experience

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, supporting a variety of tasks as operational needs evolve

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and team-focused environment

About You

You are a practical and reliable team member who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You are adaptable, safety-focused, and comfortable working across a range of tasks and environments.

You will bring:

  • A strong hands-on approach with general maintenance experience

  • Experience working across building, facilities or trade-related environments

  • Ability to problem solve and complete repairs efficiently

  • Confidence using systems and interpreting basic plans or instructions

  • Good communication and a team-focused mindset

  • A commitment to safety and following procedures

 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of WHS and maintenance practices

  • Experience in a facilities, maintenance, or operational environment

  • Exposure to airport or similar operational settings


Desirable (to be obtained within the first 6 months):

  • Forklift Licence

  • MR Truck Licence

  • Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM)

  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence

While these licences are not essential at appointment, the successful candidate will be supported to obtain and maintain them within the first six months of employment.
