4x4 Ute Canopy Technician

Position: Ute Canopy Technician

Location: Northern Suburbs, VIC

Full-time: | Monday–Saturday | Immediate Start

Based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, our showroom and production warehouse support customers across Australia. We value craftsmanship, teamwork, and reliability, offering a hands-on environment where every employee’s skills make a difference.

About the Role

- Fabricate, weld, and assemble ute canopies, dog boxes, toolboxes, and custom accessories

- Work with aluminium and steel components using MIG/TIG welding

- Fit and install canopies and accessories accurately with attention to finish and sealing

- Manage daily workflow, maintain workshop efficiency, and ensure quality standards are met

- Liaise with customers and suppliers as required

About You – Skills & Experience

- Current FULL Manual Australian Car Licence

- Current LF and LO Forklift Licence

- Trade experience or qualification in Automotive Body/Accessory Fitting, Fabrication, or Vehicle Body Building

 - Confident in fabrication, welding, and mechanical fitting

- Skilled in metal finishing, grinding, and surface preparation

- Basic auto electrical skills (lighting, 12 V accessories, simple circuits)

- Ability to read drawings and job sheets accurately

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Workshop safety awareness and team-oriented attitude

- Problem-solving mindset with initiative and reliability
